Tool Time - Groundwork Track Roller

by Brian Alfano

After making scenic groundwork, how do you put track marks in your groundwork? In this installment of “Tool Time” we find one answer. Use the track roller, of course! Here's how to make your own. Glue spare Sherman track blocks around a spare wheel. Make an RTV mold of the wheel and cast two copies. Use a household paintbrush for the handle. Get one at the hardware store that has a width close to or slightly wider than the model's hull, in this case a Sherman. Tear out the bristles and their ferrule. Screw the track wheels to the side and you're done!
