Tamiya M8 Greyhound Group Build: Project Introduction

The Tamiya M8 Greyhound Armored Car (35228) is the choice of subject for the group build. Mike Petty will be leading us on the project. Each participant is free to build the kit as they please. This means anything from OOB to full detailed interior. There are 16 build steps in the instructions and each month we'll discuss a manageable increment.

Prior to each meeting, each builder will receive an e-mail with the build steps for the month. The monthly project build sequence will also be here on our website. We'll cover these build steps in a session after our regular monthly meeting.

The first introductory session will be after the August meeting. This session will include a short history of the vehicle, available references and aftermarket upgrades. We'll actually start the build after our October meeting.

For those of you who can't make each meeting or live at a distance, you'll find everything you need here on our website. These projects can be a lot of fun and a learning experience for all. There are no restrictions on what you do with your build. Our goal should be to see how many who start the project actually finish.

Some of you have already started research on how you would like to configure your M8. For those who have not yet given this some consideration, there are a number of builds and markings you can use other than Olive Drab. The M8 was used by a number of countries after WW2, so you have many choices.
